Lee Gatiss, director of Church Society, tells Dave Piper the Church of England’s bishops are changing doctrine in fact, whilst arguing they haven’t in theory, when it comes to prayers of blessing for same-sex relationships. Lee argues this has left the majority of Anglicans worldwide aghast. He says vicars will essentially be left to decide doctrine themselves – and could get it in the neck if they go against society’s views on marriage and sexual relationships. And he warns some parishes and dioceses could break away and seek oversight from outside of the UK.
