Today, we launched the 16 days of gender activism through a prayer and fasting service at St. John’s Church of Uganda Kirinya in Namirembe Diocese.
The Service was specifically organized to remember all survivors of gender based violence (GBV) and those that have died as a result of the same.
Subsequent activities include; an interfaith Dialogue meeting on 29th November in Kumi Diocese on developing strategies to reduce teenage pregnancy and HIV/AIDS.
On the 1st December, we shall be joining our structures in music and dance events to raise awareness on GBV and HIV/AIDS.
We also plan to have a solidarity prayer with support from Act Alliance on 4th December.
Church of Uganda is in unison with the world and all key stake holders in the fight against gender injustices and commit to use our prophetic voice to ensure our world is a safe and enjoyable place for women and girls, boys and men.
