I am very pleased to announce that Rev. Howard Edwards has been hired our as new Diocese Executive Director for ANiC (formerly titled National Director). He succeeds John MacDonald who retired on August 31 st after many years of faithful service. Howard comes to us with a rare combination of 36 years of work in public accounting and financial management together with a decade of mission and ministry experience as an Anglican priest and missionary in rural East Africa.

He and his wife Cathy have lived on the outskirts of Kingston, Ontario for 33 years where they raised their four children, Matthew, Zachary, Adda and Callum. In 2009, after more than 20 years in private practice as a Chartered Professional Accountant, God called him into ordained ministry. He attended Wycliffe College in Toronto and six years ago he was ordained a priest in the Diocese of Rorya, Anglican Church of Tanzania.

I am delighted that Howard begins his work with us in ANiC this week and believe that this is a clear answer to our prayers. His love of Jesus and His Gospel, his considerable gifts for this role, and his enthusiastic embrace of the mission of ANiC will be a great blessing to us as we serve the Lord Jesus together. Please pray for him as he enters in to this ministry with us.

Howard writes:

“as the new Diocesan Executive Director of the Anglican Network in Canada I feel blessed to be called into the support of the Diocese, ANiC clergy and God’s people as together we embrace the hope and joy found in sharing the Gospel”.

To this we can heartily say “thanks be to God!” and we welcome him warmly in the name of the Lord.

Yours in the grace of Jesus,

Bishop Dan Gifford

Co-Adjutor Bishop of the Anglican Network in Canada
