The Archbishop of Canterbury meets His All Holiness Bartholomew I, Ecumenical Patriarch and His Holiness Karekin II Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians at the Anglican Centre in Rome

On Wednesday 6th October, the Archbishop of Canterbury held meetings at the Anglican Centre in Rome with His All Holiness Bartholomew I, Ecumenical Patriarch and His Holiness Karekin II Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians.

The Archbishop of Canterbury and the Ecumenical Patriarch discussed matters of mutual concern, including urgent environmental issues, following the signing of an appeal to the forthcoming COP 26 by faith leaders representing in excess of 75% of the world’s population.

The Archbishop of Canterbury discussed with the Catholicos of All Armenians the current distressing situation facing Christians in Armenia.

This was the first visit of the Ecumenical Patriarch and of the Catholicos of Etchmiadzin to the Anglican Centre in Rome.
