A message from Bishop Klusmeyer: 23 June 2019

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ:

After a long time of my discernment, I have decided that it is time to call for another Canon to the Ordinary.

After Faith and Donald retired, it was my plan to have an Assistant Bishop, and so Bishop Mark came and joined us. Upon his departure to the Diocese of Lexington, I thought about the next steps for ministry in the Diocese.

I have asked the Rev Mark Seitz to become the next Canon to the Ordinary, and he has accepted.

Mark has served this Diocese for more than 2 decades. He has served on many, many committees, including the Commission on Ministry, the Standing Committee, the Trustees of the Benjamin Spurr Trust, to name just a few. He has also served as Deputy to General Convention, and has been assigned to various commissions there.

I am happy to welcome Mark aboard.

He will continue to serve at St Matthew’s, Wheeling, until after our Convention in October – which means he will be there to welcome the Presiding Bishop and to welcome the Diocese in Convention.

Thank you, and God bless you.
