Jeff Walton serves as Communications Manager and Anglican Program Director for the Institute on Religion & Democracy in Washington, D.C.

Walton edits IRD’s quarterly journal, Faith and Freedom, and regularly writes on Anglican Communion, Episcopal Church and ecumenical matters at the blog JuicyEcumenism.com. His work has also appeared in The Stream, The American Spectator, Human Events, Touchstone, Christian Post, Real Clear Religion and The Living Church.

Since beginning work at IRD in 2006, Walton has covered the Episcopal Church General Convention, Anglican Provincial Assembly, United Methodist General Conference, the National Council of Churches General Assembly and the Global Anglican Future Conference (GAFCON).

Reared in Colorado and Washington State, Walton was educated at Colorado Springs Christian High School and Seattle Pacific University before moving to Washington, D.C. and working on Capitol Hill as a congressional staffer for four years.

A layperson in the Anglican Diocese of the Mid-Atlantic (ACNA), in 2014 Walton was elected a member of the diocesan Standing Committee and is a founding member of Restoration Anglican Church in Arlington, VA since its planting as a mission congregation of The Falls Church Anglican in 2009.
