“[A]ll of God’s children will find at Washington National Cathedral and the Episcopal Diocese of Washington” Bishop Mariann Budde

The Bishop of Washington, the Rt. Rev. Mariann E. Budde, said today she does not support the call by the primates of the Anglican Communion for the Episcopal Church to roll back its approval of same-sex marriage rites. In a statement printed on the blog of the Human Rights Campaign, Bishop Budde said:

“Bishop Curry recommitted our church to be a house of prayer for all people, and the primates’ decisions will not change the welcome that all of God’s children will find at Washington National Cathedral and the Episcopal Diocese of Washington,” said Right Rev. Mariann Edgar Budde, Episcopal Bishop of Washington and Interim Dean of the National Cathedral.
