The Archbishop of Canterbury, the Most Rev. Justin Welby, was unable to preach his Christmas Day sermon at Canterbury Cathedral. On 25 December 2014, the archbishop’s press secretary reported Archbishop Welby was suffering from a “severe cold” and that the Dean of Canterbury, the Very Rev. Robert Willisn would offer a homily in his place.  The archbishop has posted the text of his sermon to the internet. The Associated Press has since reported that Archbishop Welby is suffering from pneumonia and is resting at home.
